Longtime British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection supporter Ricky Gervais has announced his support for the charity's most recent investigation, which demonstrated that monkeys are being kept in a state of severe water deprivation, physical coercion and restraint at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Germany.
Gervais, describing himself as 'shocked and saddened', commented 'I urge people to watch the compelling BUAV film and join me in calling for these experiments to end and a full independent inquiry carried out'. Russell Crowe, Carley Stenson and Ayden Callaghan also spoke out against the experiments.
